Huge 2007 Changes for EP!!! Need Your Help! :)

Postby Victor Lucas » Sun Dec 31, 2006 7:20 pm

Hey guys,

I have some killer news and you're the very first people outside of Greedy Productions that I'm letting know because you are our biggest supporters!

We have just closed a deal with Rogers and G4TechTV Canada to sign The Electric Playground and Reviews on the Run to them exclusively for the next two years with options for more. This means starting tomorrow our shows will be broadcast exclusively on G4TechTV Canada and (then additionally on other Rogers owned outlets--TBA).

As part of our arrangement with Rogers/G4TechTV Canada, our company will also be the new production comany behind Call For Help and Torrent. We'll be making some tweaks to those shows but they'll remain as rich with great information as they already are but now we'll produce the shows out Vancouver and Greedy's HQ.

This is a huge deal for our company. It gives us a minimum of two years of financial backing and even more exciting than that is the great broadcaster support we'll have. This means that EP and ROTR will be getting some serious PR in Canada for the first time. We've always been on a number of different stations in Canada and this has meant that our stations haven't been able to promote us, so our audiences have just found us, even when stations have changed our timeslots, etc. Now we're going to have a dedicated broadcast parrtner that's invested in our success, that really believes in our work and they'll be working with us to spread the news!

So, here's the deal. We really need you guys to continue watching and supporting EP and ROTR and Torrent and the new Call For Help (the show will be called something else but we'll announce that soon). So if you don't have or get G4TechTV Canada already, please consider getting it, ok? In addition to our shows, you'll also see the other gaming and tech related programming that G4TechTVCanada provides, so I know it'll be right up your alley.

We also need your help in spreading the news to your friends in Canada: G4TechTV Canada is the new Canadian home for The Electric Playground and Reviews on the Run! We are going to have a lot of great air times on the network, tons of fresh episodes and we have some killer stuff planned in 2007 and 2008. The shows are going to look better than they ever have, especially now that we're covering Wii, PS3, Xbox360 and Vista gaming! :)

Stay tuned for official announcements and press releases from the network and Greedy in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you for everything! You guys rock.

Have a great New Year!!! :-)

-vic
Cheers,

-vic

Thanks for watching The Electric Playground, Reviews on the Run and our Making Of Documentaries!

ummmmmmmmmmmm, hmmmmmm. that's real cool, except the exclusively to G4 part. That means I wont get the usual acess I usually have to see your shows. Bause I get it on the space channel and their done a very good times for me during the weekend. so I can actually see it. this might be a problem.

Man I hope that guy hurry up with my new pro gamer computer I just bought over boxing day. I'm really gonna need to get started with my on that and so I have options if i ever want to see your show ever again that is.

But I'll continue to watch both your show's until your new season starts. so I'll back/ support you there. Congradulations vic nd the EP crew.

oh boy what do now?

Congrats, I have G4TechTV already.

It seems like G4TechTV Canada is going in a much better direction than it's American counterpart. Good luck Greedy.

I'm kinda worried. We've all seen what G4 has done to Extended Play (now X-Play). They took a great show that was really serious about gaming, and they turned it into the piece of crap unfunny "comedy" show that we have today.

If it's only on Rogers networks, make sure it's on OMNI TV and/or
Sportsnet.

OH WAIT!!! SPORTSNET SUPPORTS HD!!!

[off-topic]I wonder what happened to Dave Chalk's shows...[/off-topic]

that show was cancelled in late 2oo3 -04. I used to watch Dave Chalk's as one of my computer lit courses.
the guy that was working with him on that show has moved on doing his own thing though.

The OMNI TV in Vancouver is like TV TROPOLIS in some ways since it ALWAYS airs classic dramas and sitcoms... and religious programming as well. Most likely EP and ROTR will move to Sportsnet. They've got the "Best Damn Talk Show", why not EP?

which also means it might not be aired here http://razer.ca/shows_electricplayground.htm
ether.

So if your looking for it onllne. your going to be out of luck too . I guess. I just noticed that they were airing on much music razor today and I was going how stupid of me. and now it's only going to be on G4. which I have to ether register to get the G4 channel now. or no more EP and Reviews on the Run.

and that can't happen.

Lol.
Well I have analog or basic network... And we don't watch much tv here, so we most likely won't get a dish and register for digital cable... (EP and Review on the Run are the only two shows that I watch every week.) Sigh... Well, I guess it's GoodBye EP and Review on the Run until we actually get Digital Cable... Which most likely won't be soon... But I hope that it would happen someday...

It's official, EP and ROTR will NOT be on the CHUM channels starting tomorrow. A-Channel Victoria will air an infomercial in place of the EP and ROTR and Space will air a psychic documentary in place of ROTR.

I hope it's on a channel other than G4TechTV.

This sucks! EPTV and HypaSpace in one hour was an awesome combination, then ROTR and HypaSpace was good too if I missed HypaSpace the day before.

Here's the thing preventing me from getting G4...

[criticism]
those FRIGGIN ROGERS WIRELESS, ROGERS DIGITAL CABLE AND ROGERS WHATEVER THAT AIR EVERY COMMERCIAL BREAK!!! I cancelled TechTV Canada cause it kept airing Nokia rogers wireless commercials EVERY SINGE COMMERCIAL BREAK!!! DROVE ME CRAZY!!! They even made a mistake in the timing of a commercial break and put one right in the middle of the Screen Savers!!!
[/criticism]

So yeah, I'll stick to Sportsnet or OMNI.

No more NOKIA commercials... there's new ones. Not that it matters much since they're repeated about the same amount.

The commercials are also quite violent, like one where some guy from FEAR has an artery sliced open and blood spurts everywhere. Not that I find it disgusting, I own Gears of War, but its quite embarrassing when a parent sees it.

Oh, and TSS is no longer on the air. :( You get Attack of the Show now, which has steadily degraded over the past year.

I think G4 has really gone down the tubes last time I saw it. :? It plays attack of the show and Call for Help waayyy to much. The only shows I like are Icons, Cinematech, X-play, ROTR, and EP.
